After going through and answering the interview questions used to determine family cohesion and flexibility from the appendix of the book and questioning my mom, I agree that we have many common perspectives on the answers to these questions in broad terms. We had several similar replies, for the majority of the questions. There were some issues that we decided were problems that had to be discussed and focused on in order to continue to change. We also decided, for example, on topics relating to family cohesion, that we do not have enough time for the family. Unfortunately, when I reached 18, I somewhat went my separate and independent way. When my family moved even further away after that, it did not help, so we do not see one another much nowadays. Almost daily, we chat on the phone, but it's just not the same as talking in person. My mother and I have both been able to understand that families are a form of support. In the good and the bad, family members care for and love each other, regardless of the situation. In my family, this sure remains true. My family has always been there to encourage me and the decisions that I have made thus far in life. My mom and I decided to make a special effort to begin finding more time for each other in our hectic schedules. It is not always convenient, but in order to continue to expand on the cohesion that occurs in our family, it is necessary. We recognize that it can make a massive impact to take incremental steps....
