Description

Reflect on what your life was or even, project on what you would want your life to have been like. Try putting yourself in your future shoes. Looking back, what would you like to have accomplished and impacted? Why? My last lecture would be about my life, I would talk about my volleyball career and my college career. I would talk about how I spent my college career as a business finance major with a minor in biology and chemistry. I would talk about how I went to medical school and how I became a doctor. However, I think the biggest thing I would talk about would be death and how it can hold you down. I experience death at a very early age held me back until college and I would tell my students how to get over that. When I was 16 I lost my best friend and a very close friend in the span of a week. First I lost a close friend, to drunk driving mixed with depression. He crashed into an embankment going 120 mph without his seatbelt on. He died on impact and was ejected from his car. My best friend Kaitlyn, who was overwhelmed by the tragedy, killed herself, just two days later, by shooting herself. I think I would tell my students this and tell them how much it impacted my life. But seeing how short their lives were I use that every day to motivate me and make them proud. Kaitlyn was one of my biggest supporters and never let me give up even when I broke my knee, she pushed me to continue volleyball and I am forever grateful. My last lecture would to be to tell my students to let death and loss motivate them. Thank you for making us focus on death this past week, it really helped me overcome a lot and dug deep at my feelings....
