Description

Birds and Baseballs: A short story It was late August boarding on early September. The air had cooled off from the dog days of summer. It was the night of the birds and the baseballs. I had come over to his house to hangout. Oh, his house, the backyard looked magical. The flower beds had their last blossoms of the summer. I heard the horses in the distance the goats not too far. I could smell dinner being cooked even outside of the house. And there he was, strolling out of the house in old jeans, a t-shirt that looked a bit too small for his frame, and his boots. He carried himself in such a relaxed manner, too be fair I probably looked a bit tense. We made our way to the porch and ate dinner. During which I asked why there were baseballs in the grass. He went out after to show me. I was so nervous to be around him. I knew I had liked him, but I was not sure if he felt the same. He would throw the baseballs up into the trees attempting to hit the screeching birds. When I tried to throw the baseball, it simply went up and straight back down. There was no chance of me hitting the birds. After that we spent about an hour talking until it got dark. We had such a great conversation I just knew that we would be great friends if nothing else. His fluffy brown hair and his green eyes were so calming to look at. Even though I was very worried about him realizing I was looking at him so much....
