The use of science in proving a side in industry/business/personal financial interests is extremely important. People look to scientific evidence as hard facts, or truth regarding a certain issue. Scientists are often regarded as experts in their field of study. b. Smoking is a “principal etiological factor” in the rising amount of lung cancer cases. While other exposures also cause lung cancer, none are more prominent a risk factor than smoking. 3. (5 pts) Give one question you still have after completing the reading.
