2 COURSE ACTIVITIES & GRADING The performance of adult learners in this course will be assessed through the following activities: 2.1ONLINE ATTENDANCE AND CLASS PARTICIPATION This class relies heavily on student participation and interactive discussions. Online activities will be centered on the discussion of course material. In order to conduct a successful class online, students must participate regularly. While much of the learning is self-directed and takes place outside the distance learning community, ongoing contact with the course is essential to success, the same as meeting in a traditional classroom. Therefore, online students are required to log-in a minimum of three times throughout each week of a course and participate in discussion activities. Points are included with weekly discussion postings. 2.2WEEKLY DISCUSSION BOARD POSTINGS (Weekly) Every week will have one major topic for class discussion. These topics will vary in format and design from week to week. The grading of the threaded discussion is based on several requirements; if all are met, the student will receive full credit for the week of discussion. Any components that are missing will result in the reduction of the student's weekly grade for the discussion. Students should refer to the AGS Online Class Discussion Guidelines document (under the Course Information module) for specific directions and expectations about class discussion.

OKWU Adult and Graduate Studies

Note that for this class, there is usually only a single discussion forum per week but that forum requires a minimum of 4 substantive posts for a passing score and 6-8 substantive posts to qualify for a top score. 2.3SPIRITUAL LIFE DISCUSSION FORUMS (Weekly) Normally, there will be a Spiritual Life topic each week that students will respond to with a brief reflection post. These topics contain a major singular focus that addresses the exigencies and challenges of life and relate in some way to course themes. The student’s response will respond to the way(s) in which that focus relates to one’s personal life. Also, the student might comment on how the issues addressed in the devotional relate to the culture in which one lives, as well as any other response that emerges in the student’s thinking is most welcome. No replies or interaction is required for these, although students are free to comment and discuss. 2.4BOOK REVIEW (Week 3) I nt hi sp a pe r ,y o uwi l lr e fle c to na n dr e s p o n dt oTh eCh a n g eMo n s t e rb ywa yofab o o kr e vi e w b u i l ta r o u ndt h ef ol l o wi n gf o urs e c t i o n s : 
