IMPORTANT – FINAL EXAMINATION INFORMATION Dear Students, We have prepared the further examination information (in addition to the information slides on LearnJCU) to ensure all students enrolled in Financial Institutions and Markets are aware of the exam processes for sitting the upcoming final exam. Exam date:

Exam duration:

3 hours – includes reading time, writing time and upload of answers

Concludes:

3 hrs from the scheduled start time, regardless of the time you start the exam

Weighting:

50% of the subject assessment

Marks on paper:

80 marks

Exam topics:

There are 4 questions on this exam paper. The examination covers subject material of the prescribed textbook Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 18. From the LearnJCU homepage click on the ‘Assessment’ folder, then select ‘Final Exam – Assessment Task 3’ folder. The link titled ‘BX2032 Final Examination’ will appear at the scheduled start time. If you are in the ‘Assessment Task 3’ folder, the link for the exam will not be accessible unless you refresh your screen at the scheduled start time. The exam link will remain open to student access for the duration of the exam. You should be able to re-enter the exam via this link and continue to answer the exam questions. The exam will close to student access at 3hrs from the scheduled exam start time.

Accessing the exam:

Prior to your exam it is recommended that students review JCU’s Taking Online Exams Saving your answers: Click on the answer field to either upload an image of your written answer or type your answer directly into the answer field. Note, save your image as a jpg, this will allow the image to be viewable in the answer field. Remember to include your name and student number in the photo of your answer/workings. For ease and simplicity, use the second option to upload your answer, as per the image below:

This will display your answer as a picture in the answer box providing you are uploading a jpg and will be considerably easier for marking. Avoid attaching work as a file because we do not want to download files for marking purposes.

Note, clicking in an answer field or clicking anywhere outside an answer field will trigger the system to save your answer. Moving and clicking in the answer field to the next question will also trigger the system to save the answers you have completed.

Completing the exam: Once you have answered all of the exam questions, it is necessary to click on the submit button to upload your answers for assessment. YOUR ANSWERS MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA THE SUBMIT BUTTON BEFORE THE SCHEDULED SUBMISSION DEADLINE. Failure to submit your answers by that time may result in 0 marks for the final exam. It is recommended to upload your answers as you complete each question to ensure all that will be left to do at the scheduled deadline is click on the submit button!!

Staff Availability:

I will be available in the BX2032 collaborate Subject Room: https://au.bbcollab.com/guest/5d0c513d614444ab9a776900420d9c6a for the first 15 minutes of the Examination i.e. from the scheduled start time, to answer any questions you may have. Please open an alternative internet browser (or separate tab) to the one you are using to complete the exam to ensure your exam will not be disrupted by entering the collaborate room.

Note, there will be no quiz timer in the exam, so it is your responsibility to keep track of the time. Please familiarise yourself with these exam instructions.
