Description

Yes, I think Carters should take part in Pocono race. After careful consideration with all factors taken account for, I believe the benefit of racing in the Pocono race outweighs the cost. There is no doubt incongruency between what Paul, the engine mechanic, and Tom, the chief mechanic believes the problem is with the engine. The graph from Tom’s research shows that there are two head gasket failures even as the temperature climbs to 80 degrees. This clearly doesn’t support Paul’s point that there are more engine failures when the weather is cold. Furthermore, I believe even in the worst-case scenario, the Carters would have only lost the entry fee and oil fee. However, there is a great probability that they will succeed in the race since that achieved first-place four times. This is simply too good an opportunity to lost out on if they don’t care. Paul was able to present only one possible cause for the problem that was not based on solid evidence, but on intuition....
