Case Study 10, Google: The Drive to Balance Privacy with Profit. Question # 01 : Has Google implemented a strategy that serves all stakeholders ? Answer : Yes, Google is continuously evolving as a brand that is taking care of all the stakeholders. The strategy that Google has been all – encompassing and is putting the interests of its stakeholders with the utmost importance. Google is a company that is a role model for multinational corporations on how to achieve the sustainability measures by satisfy all the facets of the triple bottom line. From being a company that is continuously charting in the best places to work to satisfying the interests of its investors from respecting the needs and concern of the users to actively working with the law enforcement agencies. Google has been evolved as a great organization where the sustainability works at the core level and the interest of the communities and people are not only satisfied through CSR initiatives but other strategies as well included. The strong and robust corporate governance makes everyone working at Google accountable. The driving and core philosophy is “For everyone “ which tell us how it aims to take every stakeholder on board by respecting their needs. Question # 02 : How can Google respect privacy and still maintain its profitability ? Answer : Privacy which is an absolute right of every individual should be respected and protected by any organization that is involved in the maintaining user privacy. Respecting privacy while still being profitable is an easy choice which should be considered by the Google and it can do so by signing an agreement with its users that the Google as an organization will not

sell any personal information to third parties and giving the customers the highest say in the process on how they want their data to be used by the organization. As the data we create moves between our device, Google services, and data centers, it is protected by security technology like HTTPS and Transport Layer Security. Google can communicate how data is absolutely secure and is used with absolute privacy only to improve the user experience and the same can be done by obtaining consent from the customers for any data storage and giving customers the right to delete all the information with one click. Google can ensure privacy with profitability by focusing on data minimization and concepts like "federated learning" which allows Google's products to work better for everyone without having the need to collect the raw data from the user's data. Artificial Intelligence can be used to do more with less data without compromising the profitability aspect of the business. Question # 03 : How will increasing global regulation of privacy affect Google’s operations ? Answer : The increasing global regulation of privacy will change the way corporations like Google forever. It will require Google to work closely with the legislative bodies and consumer organizations. Ideally, increasing global regulation will mandate Google to accept responsibility for the way the data is used, maintained, and processed which will create consistent and universal protections for user privacy at large. If Google fails to accommodate the concerns raised by regulations and consumer bodies, it will delve into increasing lawsuits and losing markets. It will also translate into the Data minimization and less tracking on the user's activities....
