Mason: The outsiders/ it's about classism takes place in the 1900s/ Fiction Alfredo: Percy Jackson series/greek mythology/ greek gods going adventures/ Fiction Catalina: The boy called it/ based on a true story/ Issues: Child abuse, starvation and neglect/ Fiction Ashley: The giving tree/ Value: The tree always being there for the boy/ Fiction Gemma: The revolt of the cockroach people/ Activism specifically here in LA/ Issues: there where a lot of issues that affected hispanic/latinx/black people /Biography Analysis Some of the patterns that we see in the several books we discussed are: ● ● ● ● ●

Most of them are fiction Most of them had an issue They all have different stories to be told Characters come from different backgrounds Different lessons to be learned in each book

Interpretation- The issues addressed in the book impact the reader because there's always a takeaway when reading a book. Whether it be a small issue discussed in the book or a huge problem there will always be a takeaway that will impact you. Evaluation- There are many benefits from reading these books like we said before theres always a lesson to be learned that can impact us and definitely opens our mind and how we think. Engagement (What you can do)- What is one takeaway that you can share with others who may not have read the book: Mason: My takeaway was not to judge people based on their social class and not label yourself aswell Alfredo: Expand your horizons and be open minded when reading books. Ashley : never expect anything in return when you give Catalina : Don’t be stubborn and believe when people ask for help and don’t make assumptions about people. Gemma : The takeaway that I got from this book was to stand up for myself and what my beliefs even though not everyone might stand with me....
