Ch. 5 I. Front Office Accounting Reg Cards and Folios The Reg Card is completely filled out at check in making sure all the guest information and payment methods are correct before turning over the keys. An agent cannot give out a key unless payment is secure (often causing issues with families, etc). Once the check in process is completed, the system creates an “Account” for that guest. This allows the systems and outlets to post charges to his account on a form called a “Folio.” A “Folio” is a statement that shows all the transactions that were posted to that guest’s account, with details and reference numbers backing up the actual transactions.
