New Procurement Models (UK Government) The presumption for all the new models of procurement is that high levels of supply chain integration, innovation, and good working relationships between client and industry will lead to a significant change in the costs and risks of construction projects. The models represent evolution rather than revolution and establish clearly defined client-led collaborative processes developed from existing best practice. They are intended to achieve efficiency gains that can be released for additional work, create new employment and industry activity, make projects more affordable and fundable, and make the UK construction industry more competitive.

BIM is an integrated process built on coordinated, reliable information about a project from design through construction and into operations. By adopting BIM, architects, engineers, contractors and owners can easily create coordinated, digital design information and documentation; use that information to accurately visualize, simulate, and analyze performance, appearance and cost; and reliably deliver the project faster, more economically and with reduced environmental impact.

BIM Myth

BIM is just software BIM is just about 3D Geometry BIM is just about new Buildings

BIM only benefits those in design and construction

What BIM is

BIM is a process which can utilise numerous software across numerous disciplines BIM is about information, its utilisation, exchange and management BIM is database, whether it be; a new or existing building, a group of buildings, a highway, or even a city BIM is about the lifecycle of the project, so all project stakeholders stand to gain from the consistent, structured and co-ordinated data PROJECT OVE, ARUPS
