What are some powerful concepts that underlie an international or global perspective?  Globalization is an increase in the scope and magnitude of human contact with its subsequent escalation of interaction and interdependency. Being a globally connected society enhances human experience and is influenced by multiple types of interaction. 2. What does it mean to be a globally competent individual? How does this develop in people, and how can teachers facilitate this development?  Being a globally competent individual means that you are aware and have different types of consciousness. One key factor is having perspective awareness. That is being aware that one person’s view of the world is not universally shared. 3. How have recent conflicts and the interdependence of nations altered what we do in schools?  Based on test scores, in the united states we have started to focus more on math and science scores to keep up with other countries. We have started to focus more on what the test scores have to show because there a lot of students not meeting them. 4. What are some practical strategies that can be used to prepare students to better understand and interact with others around the world so they might prevent or solve problems that are global in nature?  Consider local families and communities when discussing global concerns.
