What are some common themes between the brands that you could accurately identify and ones that were unknown to you?
Known: The brands that I knew were mainly brands that I have associations with. I wear Nike clothes, occasionally eat at McDonalds, and shop at Safeway. Other brands that I may not have interacted with I still knew because there are many commercials and advertisements for those brands. An example is the car brand Chevrolet. I have never bought a car from Chevrolet, but I still knew the car brand.
Unknown: The brands I did not know were brands that I had little association with such as upscale hotels and some airlines. Since I am still a young adult in college, I have not had to form relationships/associations with these brands. Some brands I have never heard of and have never seen an advertisement.
What do you think makes a brand most identifiable? Things that make a brand identifiable are the logo and colors. Even without the words, if I can see the shape and colors of a logo, I instantly know what brand it is. The specific colors trigger an association.
