Specific Purpose- After hearing my speech the audience will be able to understand Charles Manson as both a manipulator of once innocent beings and the delusions passed onto his disciples Central Idea (Thesis)- I am here to inform you on Charles Manson the maniacal manipulator and the delusional deceiver.

I.

Main Point 1: Charles Manson’s manipulation and maniacal beliefs and how he got there. (Show Charles Manson visual aid) A. Sub-Point 1: Charles Manson and the murders at the LaBianca House (show house) 1. Sub-Sub-Point 1: Charles Manson had his disciples go to Hollywood commit a murder. a. One of the murders in this famous case was Sharon Tate.

b. Charles tied up the victims but stood outside while the murders occurred. Thus, he didn’t know about the act. c. The family members willingly murdered the victims to please Charles 2. Sub-Sub-Point 2: However, the night went sloppily and he had the followers who committed the murders killed as a result of his distaste with him

B. Sub-Point 2: Charles Manson and the concept of death. 1. Sub-Sub-Point 1: Charles Manson obsessed with death. He viewed it as beautiful 2. Sub-Sub-Point 2: Charles convinced all of his disciples that death should be embraced and it is an honor to achieve it. a. Knife moving in and out of orifice; similar to intercourse b. Main Point 2: Manson’s delusions of grandeur and the passing of his delusions onto others. A. Sub-Point 1: Charles Manson’s master plan: Helter Skelter. 1. Sub-Sub-Point 1: Helter Skelter is a racist plan made by Charles Manson to rule the world.

a. Manson would start a race war by having his disciples kill black people and frame white people. b. This would lead to an apocalyptic war that the black people would win. c. When the black people achieved power, they would be too incompetent to rule and would seek white people for help. Thus, Manson would rule. d. The name of the scheme came from the song by The Beatles who Manson loved and thought the band were singing directly to him B. Sub-Point 2: Manson changed the lifestyles of his disciples and they willingly conformed. 1. Sub-Sub-Point 1: He had his disciples call their parents, lie about coming home and getting a job in order for the parents to send money. They would then give this money to Charles. 2. Sub-Sub-Point 2: Manson Family mentality of babies. a. The pregnant women would be held in the air in a sitting up position. b. Manson would expand the opening using a razor. The baby would slip out and then be caught. The umbilical cord would be tied using a guitar string. c. These children were raised to use drugs and would participate in the family orgies.

Conclusion I.

Review/Summary: Manson’s manipulation and deception of his disciples were seriously questioned as illegal since he didn’t commit these murders first handed.
