To determine the PI setting for temperature control unit using close loop method. 3. To study the difference between PI and PID controller Abstract : Heat exchanger is a device that built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. The Heat Exchanger Process Control Training System ( Model : SE 134) has been designed to demonstrate and provide students with hands on experience on how a temperature loop for a heat exchanger can be controlled using a microprocesser based controller. This model is a water process. A double pass shell and tube heat exchanger E-221 is used for the study of process control studies. The experiment started with start up procedure. For the proportional and integral (PI) Heat Exchanger control, we fix the value of PB and D at 100 and 0 respectively. We change the values of I as 120 and 20. For the PID Heat Exchanger control, we change the value of D at 60 and 300 while maintaining the values of PB and D.Three sets of tuning parameters were tested by changing the set point and adding a system disturbance. The purpose of this experiment is to obtain and compare the respond setting for temperature control of using PI controller and PID controller. The objective is fully achieved as we can observe that PID control is quite effective as a controller. 10...
