Description

Steps of the control process. Step one : Establish performance objectives and standards. The control process begin with planning and the establishment of performance objectives that are t ’ saprocess of setting goals, collaborative defined and the standards for measuring them are set. I process between a manager and his or her employees. The key job purposes and tasks, both shared an individual, should be lectured within a smart goal framework. According to Zagorsky, 2015) as according to Whatis.com, n.d “S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym for the 5 steps of specific, measurable,

achievable, relevant, and time-based goals.”(p.1) A successful pay for performance strategy can be the key to retaining a maximum ability to drive the organisation to perform well. Pay-for-performance to apply people with the goals and objectives of the company to motivate and reward top performers. It is important for the employees to know that if their work performance meets or exceeds expectations that they will be rewarded for the hard work appropriately through pay raises, bonuses or other rewards (flexible schedule or time-off, gifts, recognition through awards). Pay for performance compensation structures not only account for the individual, but also for the working environment and performance of the team as well, this system encourage the employees to band together to reach a good communication to achieve the common goal. (Success factor, 2015)

Step two: Measure actual performance The performance measure is a comparison that provides objective evidence to the degree to which a performance resulting is change over time. This measurement of performance must satisfy this definition if they’re going to drive the performance improvement. As states by Wiley, (p.276) For example from the McDonalds’ case study ever second McDonalds’s sells seventy-five hamburgers. And every year McDonald’s customers drink one billion cup of coffee.

Step three: Compare actual performance with objectives and standards. According to Wiley, 2014 “This step are known as control equation. Need for action means Desired performance and Actual performance”. (p 276) As pointed by Understanding society, 2007 “you can also compare them as historical comparison in order to create explanations that are valid beyond a particular time and place, either by direct comparison to other historical events, theory building, or reference to the present day.” For example “the McDonalds open a first drive through restaurant in California in 1940, the aim is for McDonalds to provide a fast customer service and good value of money”. A relative comparison uses the performance achievements of the other people, work units or organisation as the evaluation standard. For example in 1961 Kroc launched a training programme to ensure that all the franchisees knows how to run a successful McDonalds business. Engineering comparison is uses engineered standards that are set sufficiently through such methods as time and motion studies. For example all suppliers must be able to be willing to follow McDonalds requirement for food safety standard include storage facilities and production formulas.

Step four: Take necessary action The control equation indicates that the greater the measured difference between desired and actual performance, the greater the need for action must take place. (Wiley, 2014 p.277). There is two types for exceptions in McDonalds Problem situation means stock management is the process of making sure there is enough stock at all time to meet demand of the customers. The regional specialised stock management team using the manugistics planning and forecasting system to control stock, reading of sales and to converts the information theoretical inventory. Opportunity situation means action should be taken to continue a higher level of accomplishment in McDonald’s. For example restaurant manager are responsible for successful running and been in involve in every aspect of their restaurant business in at McDonalds to improve in revenue.

Conclusion In conclusion, this report shows that MacDonald’s is highly popular around the world but mostly popular in United States because of the high demand of consumers. Controlling system is used huge in MacDonald’s because controlling means the process of measuring performance and taking action to ensure desired results. This is exactly what MacDonald’s does in their bussiness. In the years MacDonald’s has also added Mc cafe to their restaurant which provides coffees and beverages.
