Reply Even though cloud computing has received significant praises dues to its flexibility and scalability; there are still huge discrepancies that reduce its effectiveness. Following the huge number of security breaches being reported each day, moving the data into the cloud environment makes it hard for the incident handlers to investigate incidents in the cloud environment. Most of the challenges are realized during the analysis of the incident. Just like a farmer would expect a bumper harvest since he or she used the right farm inputs since they had already studied his soil, the same applies to incident handlers in the cloud environment. In the cloud environment, the incident handlers have little access to the cloud infrastructure. As a result, they have insufficient knowledge required in the analysis of the various incidents occurring in the cloud environment. The cloud service providers insists that their clients should not have access to the cloud infrastructure since they may interfere with the security features of the system as well become a security threat to the other content hosted by the cloud service provider. To avoid such an organization should come up with a unique SLA that adequately covers all the areas of cloud computing before committing into agreement. An organization should also lobby for the cloud service providers to create a team of security experts coming from both sides. One of the reason why it has becomes so hard for the incident handlers in the cloud, is lack of a committed group of security personnel. This makes it hard for the CSP to keep track of the number or types security incidents happening in the cloud environment.
