ISLAM IN THE PHILIPPINES 

 

Islam is the first-recorded monotheistic religion in the Philippines In the 13 th century with the arrival of Muslim traders from several sultanate governments in the Malay archipelago. means submission to the will of god. KORAN The Islamic sacred book, believed to be the word of God as dictated to Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel and written down in Arabic. The Koran consists of 114 units of varying lengths, known as Suras; the first Sura is said as part of the ritual prayer.

The term Moro is a Spanish term is a Spanish term for Muslim. Moros are great warrior and they’re grand people every one of them are valiant there never was a Moro who was afraid to die. Death on the field of battle is a privilege. Spanish conquistadores arrived in the Philippines, they were surprise to find many Muslim inhabitants. Islam is the Philippine’s second largest religion. See, it’s reach not only in Mindanao but also in other provinces. Majority of Filipino Muslims live in the Mindanao Island group, with at least 4,838,060 Muslims there, or 94% of the country’s Islamic population.
