Description

1 Presentation HUM200

1. Overview My first artifact is the beautiful painting by Leonardo da Vinci the "Mona Lisa". This painting is said to be of the Italian noblewoman Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo and was said to be painted between 1503 and 1506. My other artifact is a masterpiece that was created by Richard Wagner called "Ride of the Valkyries". The "Ride", which takes around eight minutes, where the curtain then rises showing a mountain peak where the Valkyries have gathered to transport the fallen heroes to Valhalla. This was fully orchestrated by the end of March 1856. Even though these two artifacts differ in some ways with the time period and even the origin they both show the beauty and strength of women and what they bring to humanities. 2. Impact the Audience I do believe that everyone should see that all women are a huge part of our lives and a lot people don't realize it. Women have a huge part in humanities they have all the qualities that bring all the emotions, but for some reason the world expects them all to be molded in the same way. Women can be smart, beautiful, strong and much more. Without Women we wouldn't even be here and we should be more appreciative of them and less judgmental. 3. Evidence These two artifacts are showing two sides of women in my opinion. The "Mona Lisa" is showing how beautiful and delicate a woman can be and was caught in a very historic painting. Then you have "Ride of the Valkyries" which show the strong charismatic form of women who even though they are warriors they show they are caring and want to bring men to Valhalla. I believe these two pieces definitely show just two great sides of women characteristics.

2 4. Personally The theme and cultural artifacts are important to me because I still see many woman demoralized because of their gender. I see it at work and in public, but just so many places keeping women from being what they dream to be. The "Mona Lisa" and " Ride of the Valkyries" to me are two great pieces that I see giving hope to women that they can do what they want to be. 5. Studying the Humanities I think on a personal level humanities can definitely help anyone, but for me I feel as though it comes easy. I've always been as nice as I can be to people we all should treat people how we want to be treated. Humanities shows us and gives us the possibilities to create our own imagination in art form. That's why to me humanities is an amazing thing because it brings the uniqueness of art from every individual. I't will always have a very infinite amount of possibilities. As for professional my degree of Cyber-Security will be maybe seeing the art behind all of the coding and seeing it as its own art form. Everything I will be looking into will be endless as well, but in the end I will be able to find the pattern to do my job. 6. Humanities Well my two artifacts the "Mona Lisa" and "Ride of the Valkyries" show how great humanities is because they were created hundreds of years ago and are still well known. There is art that dates back farther and still have an impact on society today and probably always will. Music has a huge impact on me it helps me get in the mood I need to be whether it helps me cope with sadness or madness it always helps. Listening to music while working and sometimes even doing class work helps me be more productive....
