Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for a Master’s degree in Neuroscience at UCL. After reading the description of enlisted modules on the UCL website, my decision was made. I am currently a final year student studying BSc Pharmacology (with Hons) at the University of Portsmouth where I am expecting to graduate with a minimum of an upper 2:1. Once completed, I will have a complex and developed understanding of neuroscience comprised with a mixture of practical and theoretic knowledge of the subject area, placing me further ahead of other candidates. I have enclosed my CV attached with this cover letter.

Graduating from UCL is a dream not many people will have the privilege to experience. I believe that my hunger to learn as well as my determination to succeed will make me an ideal student in the Master’s programme for this course. My past experiences of working in labs has shaped me to become an excellent reporter, allowing me to read through extraneous detail and focus on key concepts. My ample experience in fast-paced environments allows me to think on my feet, using intuition to come to complex conclusions. In the next 5 years, I see myself working in a pharmaceutical company having specialised in Neuroscience at UCL where I hope to have continued my studies and completed a PhD.
