Description

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our typical life as students where all changed in just a snap. Going to school, sitting down in a class to listen to lectures isn't a thing anymore, but answering modules - of various subjects through selflearning just in our respective homes do. It made all of the students, including me, experience plenty of things that we never imagined to happen before. And honestly, my mathematics learning experiences in this time of pandemic can all be wrapped up as a roller coaster ride - indeed. In my first few months of modular distance learning in mathematics, I was positively complacent learning the topics in the said subject. For in my mind, it will all be easy for me since I know in myself that I am good at this subject. Besides, I was correct - the topics in the first grading were still all uncomplicated to learn, analyze, and solve. The results in my performance tasks and assessments were all even good -where I got few wrongs and even perfect ones. Indeed, I do love to answer first my modules in mathematics above all the other subjects. However, not until the following grading came, I realized that learning this subject can be tricky and complicated sometimes. During those months, all of my downfalls and hardships took place. Answering my modules in math wasn't that simple and fun anymore. There I experienced being confused, felt down, and being hard on myself. It made it even harder for me having the fact that - my subject teacher would not respond to my concerns as soon as possible. And sometimes, my elders in our house couldn't help me in times of need. But as I go through these various difficulties, I discovered plenty of solutions and with the help of my parents and my elder sister. I learned to research in Google - the things that I need to perceive - to analyze and solve furtherly - the math problems. I also learned to use other credible references such as PRE-GED books and other books that are for High Schoolers like me. All of it helped me a lot as I go through those not quite good happenings. In conclusion, although my learning experiences in Mathematics this COVID-19 pandemic was indeed a roller coaster ride, I am grateful with all my experiences as I realized many things. This realization includes: when you experience various difficulties in life, you will always go through the help of yourself and the people around – only if you’re truly willing to go through all of it....
