b) How the building will be used by occupants Class 1 - Domestic or residential standalone houses with 2 sub classifications:  Class1A - Single detached dwelling, commonly called a duplex, town house, row house or terrace house or one or a group attached dwellings  Class1B - Boarding house, guest house or hostel town house, villa with a floor area of less than 300 m 2, with less than 12 people living and not located above or below another dwelling other than a garage. Class 2 – SOU (single occupancy unit) in separate dwelling called apartment. Typically, multiple residential units in a building where people live below or above each other. Assessment 2: Apply fire protections to the building project. (Maximum of 600 words) The client has brought you a prepared set of drawings for the building works, and has hired Metharom Construction to build this facility. You have noticed when reviewing the documentation provided, that the building requires additional fire safety measures to be added, in order to comply with the BCA. Using the documents provided, add both passive and active fire protections to the building plans. You will need to do this for both the ground floor and the first floor. Prepare an explanatory memorandum that explains the changes that you have made to the client, and justifies your decisions using the BCA. You will need to ensure that your memorandum includes: a) Passive fire protections/controls b) Active fire protections/controls c) Protection measures relevant to the building’s bushfire attack level (BAL) This assessment should not exceed 600 words.
