Introduction The purpose of this second assignment is to understand the data flow of our system and the to use the knowledge that has been taught by our lecture about SQL (coding). This assignment consists of a report, ER Diagram and the library management system. The main concern of system is to ensure user friendly and error free application. Our system is able to handle the activity of a library. It is used by a librarian to manage the library using a computerized system where he/she can record various transactions like issue of books, return of books, addition of new books, addition of new students.
We came up with this application because it is much easier to store through a computer than manually. In this system, the benefit is the librarian can store or delete information at any time and it doesn’t need to have an internet connection and it’s fast. We faced a lot of problems during the completion of this assignment and we would like to thank our lecture who showed us the path of success.
Problem Description
Background of project
Library Management System is an application which refers to library systems which are generally small or medium in size. It is used by librarian to manage the library using a computerized system where he/she can record various transactions like issue of books, return of books, addition of new books, addition of new students etc. Book name and student name are also included in this system which would keep information of the students using the library. With this system you won’t lose book records or student records. By doing it this way it will be more efficient than doing it manually because doing manually can cause problems. Examples of problem including lost of data. Other than that, difficulty to search certain data because data are large in number. Moreover, computer system saves space. The number of records become large the space for physical storage of file and records also increases if no computerized system is implemented.
Project Description(Functions) The system has three main features which are add, delete and update information. Firstly, if student wants to borrow the book our system will check the availability of the book. If the book is available, student’s information will be taken down on our system. If the book is not available student needs to find another book. Then our system will give a time line to the student. The librarian will be able to issue a fine for the student if he fails to return the book within the time given. If the book is returned the librarian may remove the student’s name from the system and make the book available again and keep the book’s record.
Project Objective Our project’s objective is to improve in control and performance. The system is developed to cope up with the current issues and problems of library. The system can add user, validate user and is also bug free. Other than that, our system can save cost because after a computerized system is implemented less human force will be required to maintain the library thus reducing the overall cost. Lastly our system can save time of a librarian because he is able to search record by using few clicks of mouse and few search keywords thus saving his valuable time.
Project scope The scope of our system is to provide a user-friendly app to serve people in the best way. Other than that, we also want our system to be fast and reliable so that user can have smooth process when using our system. Besides that, by using the librarian can add, delete and clear record in a easier way which will save space. Lastly, it helps to maintain the number of books in the library. Example, if a book is missing, our system allows the librarian to check on the details about the book and the student who borrowed it.
Hardware and Software Requirements
Hardware We used intel core I5 to develop the system and since when our system is a light version we would recommend Intel Pentium and above. Ram: 512 MB Hard drive: 50MB
Software - The system is compatible to Windows XP/ Windows Vista/Windows 7 and Windows 10 - We used Visual Studio to develop the code and system.
Targeted User Our targeted users are librarian, students and lectures.

Forms and report design
Conclusion
This system provides a computerized version of library management system which will benefit the students as well as the librarian of the library. It makes entire process online where the librarian can search books, staff can generate reports and do book transactions. Librarian can add, delete and update books name and student’s details. This will allow less human errors and saves more time.
System Implementation (Introduction)
For a librarian to use a library system, he would like some aspects to be in the system. For an example, updating the database, checking the availability of books and many more. That’s exactly what our system delivers. Our system has the standards and quality to support a small or a medium sized library and has potential to sustain for many years.
Not only that, our system can get updates that would make our system double then it already is. We used Visual Studio and Microsoft Access to develop this system. We would like to give credit to the programmer for his unbelievable work and the rest of the team has done well in making sure that the user experience world class standards in our system.

Conclusion
The library management system has given an opportunity to programmers who can deliver equal standards and quality to show what they can do. The system also introduces a new face to the world where everything nowadays is computerized. This type of system can be used anywhere. For an example, Car Rental System, Hotel Management System, Bakery Management System and cashier system.
There is a future scope of this system is that, features such as online lectures video tutorials can be added by teachers as well as online assignments submission facility, a feature of group chat where students can discuss various issues of engineering can be added to this project thus making it more interactive more user friendly and project which fulfills each user need in the best way possible
