A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 7 PHYSICAL EDUCATION ARNIS I. OBJECTIVE At the end of the lesson, the student must have; a. Identified the 12 basic strikes of arnis; b. Executed properly the 12 basic strikes of arnis; and c. Appreciate the importance of arnis in both as the national sports and as selfdefense. II. CONTENT A. Topic: ARNIS 12 BASIC STRIKES B. PROCEDURE TEACHER’S ACTIVITY A. PREPARATION Everybody stand up. May I request Mr. Angelo to lead the prayer. Good morning class. Before you take your seats, pick up the pieces of papers and cellophanes and arrange your chairs. You may now sit down. I am Ms. Daryl Jane C. Tabamo, your teacher for this hour and in this subject. B. CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE May I request the class secretary to pass the attendance and please mark X to those who are absent.

Before we start let us all go to the gym bring your batons for our lesson proper. D. LESSON PROPER Our topic for today is the 12 basic strikes of arnis. In doing the 12 basic strikes, we must perform first the Ready Stance. In ready stance, it is commonly used when standing at ease during training or tournaments. First, stand with your feet apart parallel to the shoulders with both toes pointing forward. (Demonstrating) Second, the knees should be straight, the body is facing forward. (Demonstrating) Hands are on waist level and the hand should hold the sticks on both sides. (Demonstrating) Again. Very good. After the ready stance is the forward stance, it is commonly used with frontal striking or blocking techniques. First, move one foot forward until the knee and the toe are inline to each other. (Demonstrating) Second, both toes are pointing in front and the body is facing forward. (Demonstrating) The forward stance can be right foot or left foot. (Demonstrating) With the ready stance, we proceed to the 12 basic strikes of arnis. First strike, to the left temple. Right forward stance.(Demonstrating) Second strike, to the right temple. Left forward stance. (Demonstrating) Third strike, left arm. Steady left forward stance. (Demonstrating) Fourth strike, right arm. Right forward stance. (Demonstrating) Fifth strike, thrust to abdomen. Steady right forward stance. (Demonstrating) Sixth strike, thrust to right chest. Left forward stance. (Demonstrating) Seventh strike, thrust to left chest. Right forward stance. (Demonstrating) Eight strike, strike to left knee. Steady right forward stance.
