Response 1:

The training should be that of public relations. Focusing more on diversity and cultural differences to avoid conflicts from arising. It is also essential to understand if those treated or being treated with mental disorders have been treated in the past. The proper training program will enable the professionals to interact with the individuals on a base by base level. Given that their English skills aren’t well, incorporating Spanish into some training procedures could help. Those who have mental disorders need support emotionally and socially from staff members. When there are language and cultural barriers preventing such interactions, then the patients may not obtain the help that they need to overcome the challenges that are plaguing them successfully.

The individual is working with the person that is from another country, must also understand their cultural differences and values. Some cultures don’t take too keenly to medications or therapy; they take on more natural approaches. Understanding these factors would better assess and treat the patient. The inter-group contact that you emphasize on is a method of improving positive communication between those of different backgrounds. Also, it would be a good idea to ensure that elimination of all bias or racist activities that staff could otherwise not find so personally bias. It is essential for training to be conducted so that staff could better identify such factors as to not offend anyone in the process of treatment.

Working with those who are from another country already has developed mentalities of being the different one. Ensuring that those feelings don’t enter into the facility is important because it enables them to open up. When they can’t open up, they may not receive the treatment options that could help them. Concerning staff and competency, it is essential to understand that they have no bias, discrimination, or racist thoughts towards any different culture. Sometimes we develop feelings such as these towards people without realizing it until we encounter a particular situation. Thus, ensuring that the staff members are comfortable with working with others different from them is crucial.

Also recognizing the cultural diversity of the populations can exhibit more significant opportunities for those involved. They are getting enriched with a mixture of cultural practices, religious beliefs, and concepts that their culture may not have. The staff also has to understand that there will be times they may not agree with the other individual on specific ideas, but it isn’t about agreeing. It is about accepting that person as being different and respecting their culture. Make a set of principles for your representatives and express that the organization won't endure segregation of any sort. Implement a zero-resilience strategy by making disciplinary moves against any individual who abuses this standard, in such a case that you let a couple of occurrences go without remark, at that point different workers may feel that you are quietly influential of separation....
