Introduction Disinheritance is a testamentary disposition by which a compulsory heir is deprived of, or excluded from the inheritance to which he has a right. This article blog aims to show the different controversial causes of disinheritance which makes it unique at some point and the infamous stories of the people involve in these cases. I once watched a movie which is entitled “Knives out”, the plot and the suspense conflicts are intriguing, shocking and unbelievable. It’s a detective movie and it revolved in the investigation of how an old man of the family died, when did it happened, why he died and chose everything that happened, and why were his children was disinherited and gave all his wealth in his personal nurse instead. It somehow confused me and left me asking, why would parents do that? What would the disinherited children feel about it? Was the parent heartless? Or Did they do their children a favor? That’s why I chose this topic, I want to know and let other people know the major and most controversial reasons that leads to disinheritance. I will feature some of the most influential and popular personalities in different industry. These cases are unbelievable yet satisfying to know especially most of the people we care about are our idols and most admired influencers. This paper is written in the form of an article blog and I have an intention of publishing it in my website if approved.

Fathers has denuded the sons of fortune Jaycee Chan’s luxurious lifestyle turns to greatest uh-oh! We all know the greatest drunken master, shaolin master and the legend Jackie Chan (Chang Kong-sang), an actor, director, comedian, and an action film star in Asia. He’s famous and had a lot of movies starred by him and directed by him also, so it is obvious that this guy earned a lot not just from making movies in theaters but for sure from also making endorsements and used his popularity. Jackie Chan is not just an actor; he also has a singing career that made him more popular. Because of that, it is not shocking if he made a net worth of $370 Million. Jackie Chan has a child named Jaycee Chan, who is also an actor, however, not like his dad, Jaycee lived a luxurious lifestyle. His dad helped him in his movie projects but it doesn’t quite end well and flopped. His projects experienced financial difficulties and it doesn’t made Jackie convinced, especially on how he handled his life with silver spoon in his mouth. Because of this, in an interview in the year 2012, Jackie Chan said that he intended to leave half of his fortune to the charity and the rest to his family. But recently, he changed his will and intended to leave one hundred percent of his fortune to the charity. Jackie Chan is a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, not just that, he also campaigns against animal abuse and for the conservation of the environment. Aside from that, he also founded his own charity, which is the “Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation”, which was founded to provide aid for the victims of natural disasters and illnesses. In an interview back in back in year 2012, he said that if his son is capable enough, he can make his own money, and if he’s not, Jackie said that his son will just waste his money. That’s because Jaycee is used to a luxurious life, living in mansions, having an expensive vacation at all places he wanted, took the best education, buying luxurious cars and even launched his own singing and acting career. All thanks to the help of his father’s popularity. Unfortunately, all his father’s wealth will not fall into his hands, not even his wife or other family, not a single red dime!

Now, what did this unfortunate son do aside from being used to a luxurious living? Well, Jaycee Chan, is also known for being a black sheep of the family who’s been in trouble dragging his father’s fame down. So, we can’t blame the old Chan for disinheriting his own son. He got arrested for using drugs and got jailed. What’s ironic was that his father is an advocate of antidrugs. Jaycee was doing everything that can ruin his father’s reputation. Seems like their relationship as a father and son was tested by numerous situations and It’s a tough thing to decide if they should continue the way they interact or if everything was typical since they’re celebrities. However, we can’t really blame Jaycee Chan’s actions. Jackie admitted that his relationship with his son is more like a friend and as a son, Jaycee may be heartbroken. Considering the facts that Jackie and Jaycee once had an experience wherein they only met six times in six years. That’s once a year and I can really feel how distant he is to his father, physically and emotionally. Once, Jackie also told in an interview that he never looked after his son or even sent him to school when Jaycee’s younger. He even admitted that one time that he was about to pick up his son but he went up to a wrong school, which is quite irresponsible for a parent but that’s Jackie Chan that we’re talking about, a man with a busy life, a star. He must have devoted his attention more to his career instead of his own family. What can we expect to an action star? Jackie’s reasons for removing his sons supposed to be inheritance was somehow reasonable, but for an action star, for a legend, and for the famous Jackie Chan who’s known by every single one of us, it’s awfully tragic even though the Chan Family already benefited from the largesse of the elder Chan. It gives them a ton of opportunities to live the life they always wanted. This tale of father and son relationship is not far from the stories we’ve encountered but what’s common in here is the lack of communication and bond as a family. Jaycee Chan might get it back if he got close enough to his father, who knows the possibilities? The cause of disinheritance, however can be seen as the living of the son Jaycee Chan in a disgraceful life that somehow scratches and dragged the name of Jackie Chan. If Chan was really aiming to disinherit his son, it will be easy because the proof was obvious. It all depends on Jackie Chan if he would really deprive his son from his wealth.

Simon’s soft spot! Simon Cowell is known for being a tough judge on television competition or reality shows like America’s Got Talent, The X Factor and American idol. He is very known for giving mean, attitude and critical remarks towards the contestants. These actions, however, reflects on how successful he is as a record producer and a media personality that boasted the popularity of some famous personalities like Camilla Cabello and Noah Cyrus. In fact, he launched his latest television venture which is entitled as “ The Greatest Dancer” that was streaming for BBC One. Given this context, he earned an estimated net worth of five hundred fifty million dollars, too big yet reasonable. This huge personality is someone that you don’t want to mess with. After several issues about his dating life, he had an affair with Lauren Silverman and that resulted in a pregnancy. Simon Cowell, the very meticulous personality is now a father of his son Eric on exactly February 14, 2014. Simon really doesn’t want a children, but there is a change of heart, who would not be? Having a child is a blessing, probably the best thing that will happen to a guy like Simon. The relationship of Simon with his son is very precious, he became a hands-on dad and he even let his son Eric to went with him in the studios letting Eric think that he is already working at age six. This very satisfying story is already good enough to think that Eric is so fortunate to have a father like Simon Cowell who is a multi- millionaire celebrity, and being the only heir. But unfortunately, Cowell bravely announced in an interview with a magazine “Esquire” that his son Eric will not inherit anything from him. In Simon’s perception, he likes the feeling of giving to people so he decided that he will left everything to someone, either to a charity for kids and dogs. Simon talked about not believing about passing wealth to one generation to another.

Simon might not be the most charitable personality known in the showbiz but he openly said that he would prefer to be remembered for being a good person who help others become successful and better in life than helping his own kids to maintain the riches that they have right now or stay rich forever. His kids might get used to it and never know the feeling of struggling in terms of money. But despite all these goodness he wanted to attain, will his son view it as a thing that he can just considered to flop or will he take it in depth of his living once he figured it out and when he is already at the right age? Disinheriting someone is not an easy thing to do, nor to the part of the disinherited party. The pain of being left with nothing knowing that there is so much to be left is immeasurable. These stories has situations that can be reverted if the testator would want to. Giving so much emphasis on making their children independent and wanting them to live in a life that they are going to build for themselves was not selfishness at some point. Considering their father’s point of view, it can somehow help them to grow and be capable of without leaning on so much fortune and so much pressure. However, on the part of the disinherited children, it might be considered a big loss, technically, but theoretically, the intention of their fathers will make them a better person that can live without depending on the fortune that their fathers gained. This scenes might just happen for people who has so much to be left out and for those who already know that the future of their family is secured without getting the fortune that they suppose to have. But for people who are greatly dependent on their parents, doing something like this is depressing. The privileges that the rich people have breaks boundaries. Even though their son’s are deprived of the riches, more people will be benefited from their disinherited fortunes. This might be cruel but I think these famous personalities only want to do it for the greater good. What a hero.

King of pop’s revenge Everyone knows about Michael Joseph Jackson, an American singer, song writer and of course a dancer. Everyone saw him as a successful legend that left a lot of legacy. But when he died, everything that he had been earned will be left behind. It is a good thing that he made his last will and testament where he can decide whether who is the one that he wants to take care of his wealth. However, everything in his possession was left to the executors that he gives authority and full power to sell,lease or mortgage, pledge, exchange or dispose his properties, real or personal. He left all his estate to the trustee or trustees (Michael Jackson Family Trust). All of the provisions of the family and how much will they get was all written their. In his will, he intentionally omitted to give Deborah Jean Rowe Jackson, his former wife for reasons not stated in the will. Unfortunately, even Michael’s father, Joe Jackson as well as his siblings was omitted in the will or in the 21-page Michael Jackson Family Trust Agreement. Maybe the reason for thsi was that Joe Jackson became so harsh to Michael when he was still a child. He was never been fond of his father nor close. He seemed to be a distant parent who turns their home unusual and a nightmare. When he knew that his children was inclined on music and turns out that they (Jackson 5) has a talent, he would beat them with a buckle of belt, hit them with a chord of an electric kettle and what was worse was to made them carry a cinder of blocks from one garden to another. They weren’t allowed to play with other children and just spend five hours training or rehearsing per day. When they got it wrong every time their father, Joe Jackson would order them to get a branch of tree and then he will hit them with that thing. His father was really violent. No wonder he never mentioned him in his will.

Aside from that, when Michael was doubting his self and became more self conscious about the size of his nose, his father was the first one to mock him and bully him, saying that he has a big nose. He insulted Michael Jackson a lot that it remained to his thoughts, make him feel haunted by it even at adulthood. He would constantly act as if he was sniffing his hand but the fact was he was covering his nose. Michael did his best to distant his self from his father. However, every Asian family might get it as a normal thing for a father or a parent to act harshly to their children especially when you are in trouble, but for Michael, it became an inspiration for him to be better. Although, at some point he got his unsolicited revenge to his father by leaving nothing to him when he died. Families with less communication and lacks of showing love made it really hard for them to understand what was the true meaning of family. The barriers that they have instilled by themselves are the ones that made them so distant with each other. That is why relationships should be strengthen so that even if anything went wrong, there are still someone you can run into and everything that you have worked for will benefit everyone in your family. This cause of disinheritance might be a normal thing for some but for the king of pop, it was one of the reason why he wanted his father to be cut out of his will. Everyone especially his brothers can prove that. The way of their father to discipline them and had inflicted to them gone wrong.

A mother’s strange love The Widow’s influence to Tony Curtis Tony Curtis, an American actor who has been in the career for six decades made more than a hundred films with different range of genres either comedy or drama. But before he gained his popularity with his pleasing looks and a piercing blue eyes, he first serve his country as a United States Navy and even served in the World War II. After the said enlistment he moved to Hollywood, California. That is when his career took off after his high-profile marriage to Janet Leigh in 1951. Their marriage resulted of having daughters, Kelly Lee and Jamie Lee Curtis. This was just his first marriage. He then got divorced on 1962 because he had an affair with a 17year-old German actress named Christine Kaufmann. Tony Curtis then married Christine Kaufmann on 1963, just a year after he got divorced! They had two daughters, Alexandra and Alegra. That was not the last. This guy never know how and when to settle, goodness! He got divorced again on 1967. But what was ironic was that just a year after again, on 1968, the good looking actor married Leslie Allen, a 23-year-old model. He really had a taste. They had two sons, Nicholas Bernard and Benjamin Curtis. All his affairs are high-profile. But unfortunately, his son, Nicholas died in 1994 because of heroin overdose. The untamed Tony Curtis doesn’t want to settle that time. He got divorced again on 1982 and guess how many more marriage he had after that? Three more marriages. He got married again with Andrea Savio on 1984 and it just lasted until 1992. Next was Lisa Deutsh on 1993 that only lasted for a year. And then lastly Jill Vandenberg on 1998 until he died on 2010. In total, he had six marriages to different high-profile women. Aside from that, he also got engaged from several known icons like Marilyn Monroe and Natalie Wood.
