CHANGES This issue supersedes Standard for Certification No. 2.22 of October 2008. Text affected by the main changes is highlighted in red colour. However, where the changes involve a whole section or sub-section, only the title may be in red colour. Main changes — Extensive re-organization of the entire Standard, based on new crane type categorizations. — Change in categorization of lifting appliances. — Implemented crane design definitions. — Documentation requirements and certification requirements are moved to chapter 1. The requirements are listed in tables and follows general description given in Ship Rules. — Change in structural categorization. — Requirements to mechanical properties for steel forgings are given through reference to ship rules. — Group classification of lifting appliances has been partly removed and partly moved to Ch.2 Sec.2 C400 Checking with respect to fatigue. — Added description for operational brake for winch. — Requirements to gear transmissions implemented. — Section Conventional cargo gear, cargo ramps and movable cargo decks removed. Requirements to cargo ramps and movable cargo decks included in Ch.2 Sec.3. — Established new sections for Shipboard and Industrial Cranes, Offshore Cranes, Subsea Cranes, Heavy Lift Cranes, Lifting of Personnel, Launch and Recovery Systems for Diving and Launch and Recovery Arrangement for ROV. — Appendix E: Description of handling of Pad eyes in A200 replaces description of handling of brackets.
