First, I would like to go off on a tangent. Personally I fell in love with this article because as somebody who isn’t from Boise or Idaho in general making my decision to come here was tough but like Doerr had said in his article everybody asks “Why Boise?” and then when the come and visit they leave and are jealous that I get to call this place my home for the next four years. I am in love with Boise, Idaho. Doerr uses many different writing techniques in his article and it is saturated with descriptive imagery and he is able to connect to the audience by including something that everybody can relate to in a tiny piece. He uses, imagery, and description that captivate his audience leaving them wanting more and more. I think his intended audience is people who knock on Boise before they come to visit. He is targeting people who think of Idaho as a potato wasteland with dirt everywhere and nothing to do. He gives examples that everybody can relate to such as eating, riding bikes around town and even floating the river (which I did for the first time Sunday, best thing ever). He talks about ho he can float the river and see eagles on the side of the river and look into office buildings and see people working and even deer running across the roads which in big urban city’s would never happen....
