Activity: Work is heavily sedentary; 10-hour days predominantly spent sitting; no physical aspect of his work lifestyle 2. Activity: Plays online gaming; further contributes to sedentary lifestyle; Pt. reports trouble with posture which could be attributed to 1 & 2 activities. 3. Activity: iPhone Health app reported 4996 average steps in last week Pt. reported quit heavy smoking about 6 months ago; started smoking at 16; reported childhood asthma Pt. reported eating habits not quite healthy; doesn’t eat vegetables and doesn’t drink water; drinks beers often; eating habits inconsistent and unhealthy Pt. reported sleep < 6 hours; can be attributed to high levels of stress pt. experiences at work Pt. reported no clear motivation for exercise for himself, rather pressured by girlfriend to lose weight; has zero history of exercise; did not enjoy playing sport

Objective Body composition: W 80kg; H 175cm; BMI 27.8 (Overweight); Waist Circ 93 (↑ risk); BF 23% (↑ risk) Resting cardiovascular: HR 72 bpm; BP 118/69 Fasting Biochemical profile: NIL – no regular GP; no pathology tests ever performed Cardiorespiratory Fitness: Predicted VO2max 1.6 L/min (Very poor); Submax 5 th minute HR 160, 6th minute HR 170 Muscular Strength: 1RM Leg press 140kg – Cues: Keep backside and back firmly pressed against pad; hips, knees and ankles aligned; push to straighten hips and knees; DON’T lock knees 1RM Bench press 50kg – Cues: keep shoulders back (& head where possible) on pad; push handles forward DON’T lock elbows; return bend elbows DON’T bend arms beyond torso 1RM Supported row 35kg – Cues: keep chest firm on pad; pull handles back, pulling arms just past torso; fully extend arms on return DON’T lock elbows or allow shoulders to round forward; keep shoulders down and squeeze scapula together 1RM Leg curl 30kg – Cues: align knees with machine pivot point; keep back firm on pad; push down and bend knees; DON’T lock knees when returning to straight Plank Endurance 20 sec
