Emisferi terrestri Cosa sono? In geografia, un emisfero terrestre corrisponde a ciascuna delle parti in cui un corpo celeste è diviso dall'equatore, la linea immaginaria orizzontale che percorre la terra al suo centro, e dal primo meridiano che corrisponde alla linea immaginaria che attraversa verticalmente la terra dal Polo Nord al Polo Sud, percorrendo Greenwich a Londra. Quanti sono? Gli emisferi terresti corrispondo essenzialmente ai quattro punti cardinali. Emisfero meridionale -Su di esso si trovano i continenti: Africa meridionale, una parte dell’America meridionale, Oceania, parte del sud-est asiatico e l’Antartide, dove si trova il Polo sud. -Ed i seguenti oceani: Oceano Pacifico, Oceano Atlantico, Oceano Indiano e i mari antartici. Emisfero occidentale L’emisfero occidentale è un termine geografico utilizzato per indicare la metà della Terra che si trova ad ovest del meridiano di Greenwich. Questo comprende le Americhe, ma anche parti dell'Europa occidentale, dell'Africa, una piccola parte della Russia, numerosi territori dell'Oceania, e una parte dell'Antartide. Emisfero orientale L’emisfero orientale è un termine geografico utilizzato per indicare la metà della Terra che si trova ad est del meridiano di Greenwich. Questo comprende l’Asia, l’Oceania (o Australia), l’Antartide, parte dell’Europa e l’Africa.

Oceani Più di due terzi della superficie terrestre è coperta dall'acqua. Questo è per il 96% di acqua salata e solo il 4% è acqua di fiumi, laghi e stagni. Quanti sono?
