I apologies, you must be confused and might be wondering what’s going on. I am Montresor, I’m the man that I speak of is known as Fortunato. We have become extremely close. One would say we’re best friends. Up until recently now you see I have done wrong by him. A time back when Fortunato and I we’re in are thirty’s, I had met an amazing women. All of us got along pleasantly and grew very close to one another. My dearest, and closest friend Fortunato like a lot would say grew envies. He felt as though he and I were not spending anytime together like they had used to. What I did not understand what made him say such a thing? We had hung out twice a week at the local pub. On somedays when I would get out of work I would go straight to my best friend’s house. I had realized that my friend and I were becoming more and more distant as time had went on. I had thought nothing of it and had continued on about my life. One day when I was having a conversation with my wife I had gotten a call from Fortunato saying that he and I have not talked in quite a while and that he wanted to meet at the pub. I did not think anything of it and as we always hang out there. Fortunato and I met up and had a few drinks and were sharing a great time. Fortunato had offered to pay for a drink which I had thought was little wired due to the fact that a never occurred before but giving him the benefit of the doubt I though he was doing a friendly jester so I said yes. After a few minutes I had started to feel a bit groggy and could not get up. As I continued to call Fortunato I had asked him what he had done to me and ask him for help, I saw him talking to a lady in the corner. They had started to approach me then picked me up and took me to a room in the back that I had never seen before. Momentarily he left me and the women alone I yelled for help but nothing came out, I started to panic, and wondered what Fortunato had done to me. Suddenly I had begun to black out. The next day I Had woke up alone full of anger and very confused with Fortunato. When I tried to get up and on my feet I felt sore and extremely exposed I gathered all my belongings expeditiously and in panic then rushed my way home. When I entered my house to tell my wife what had happened I see Fortunato sitting on the couch trying to comfort her. The feeling of anger I felt I made my way over to him as fast as I could and once I reached him I begun to whale on him my wife tried breaking up the fight by pulling me off and yelling at me with tears in her eyes, By time I got off of Fortunato he bleeding all over my floor, I had asked my wife what had happened she had started yelling and saying how could I betray her, and such a thing to her. I had begun to explain that I had blacked out and did not remember nothing that had happened all that I remembered was that Fortunato had given me a drink. Her not registering what I was saying she ran off to the room and packed all of her things and walked out the door. All that I could think of was how my heart broke when she closed the door and I would ruin Fortunato’s life for running mine.
