By th e tim e it was t wo th irds ful l , Susie beg an to feel hungry and thought s he woul d eat her l unch. Rover cam e and took his pl ace at her side as s oon as sh e beg an to e at. Did she give him some of the l unch? No, s he was in a s el fis h m ood and did n o such thing. “ Th ere , R ove r, run aw ay! There’s a go o d dog,” s he s aid, but R ove r stay ed near her, w atch ing he r s te adil y with hi s cl e ar brown e yes .
