Introduction Streamlined operations, greater administration and management, superior patient care, strict cost control, and increased profitability are all advantages of the Hospital Management System. HMS is a strong, adaptable, and user-friendly system that was built and developed to provide realworld benefits to hospitals. What's more, it's backed up with solid and dependable assistance. The database, object-oriented, and networking techniques are used in the project "Hospital Management System." As there are many areas where we keep records in databases, we use MY SQL software, which is one of the best and most user-friendly software for doing so. The frontend software for this project is JAVA, which is an Object Oriented Programming language that connects to MY SQL.

Objective Hospitals are an important aspect of our life since they provide the greatest medical care to persons suffering from a variety of ailments caused by changes in climatic circumstances, increasing work-load, mental trauma stress, and so on. Hospitals must keep track of their daily operations and records of their patients, physicians, nurses, ward boys and other staff members in order to keep the hospital functioning smoothly and successfully. However, keeping track of all of the activities and their records on paper is time consuming and prone to errors. Observing the continual increase in population and number of people visiting the hospital, it is also a very inefficient and time-consuming process. All of these records are extremely unreliable, wasteful, and error-prone to record and maintain. Maintaining these records on paper is also neither cost-effective nor technically possible. As a result, we've decided to base our project on the manual system's operation. Administration support system for medical institutions is an automated version of the manual system that we built. Our project's major goal is to create a paperless hospital that is up to 90% paperless. It also intends to provide low-cost, dependable automation of current systems. In addition, the system provides great data security at every level of user-system interaction, as well as robust and reliable storage and backup capabilities.

Scope The Hospital Management System is the planned software product (HMS). Any hospital, clinic, dispensary, or pathology lab will be able to use the system. To obtain information from patients, go to a clinic, dispensary, or pathology, and then store the information for future use. The existing system is one that is based on paper. It is too slow and unable to supply updated patient lists in a timely manner. The system's goal is to reduce overtime pay while increasing the number of patients who can be appropriately treated. These documents contain both functional and nonfunctional requirement assertions.

Proposed system The Hospital Management System was created to replace any hospital's existing manual paperbased system. The new system is designed to keep track of patient information. Room availability, staff and operating room scheduling, and patient invoicing are all important factors to consider. These services must be delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner, with the goal of lowering the amount of time and resources now necessary for such jobs.

ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) A database is an essential component of every software system. Using the ER Diagram to its maximum potential in database engineering ensures the construction of high-quality database designs for use in database creation, management, and maintenance. A communication system is also provided by an ER model.
