Language Domain Listening and Speaking

Reading

ELP Standard (Basic Level) “B-2: identify key details in a variety of literary texts and presentations.” (2019 Arizona English Language Proficiency Standard Grade 1).

“B-1: ask and answer questions such as who, what, where, why, when, and how about key details in a text.” (2019 Arizona English Language Proficiency Standard Grade 1)

Content Standard “SL.1.2 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media.” (2019 Idaho Common Core State Standards Grade 1)

Performance Objectives Content: students will be able to ask, answer questions, point out key details in a text that is read to them.

“RI.1.7 Use the illustrations and details in a text to describe its key ideas.” (2019 Idaho Common Core State Standards Grade 1)

Content: students will be able to use the pictures from the reading and ask and answer questions such as who, what, when, where, why, and how to help identify the key details from the readings.

Language: students will show what they are learning by being put into ten minute groups and listening to the short story being told then having them fill in the bubble with the right key detail and answer the question by filling the right bubble in.

Language: students will show what they have learned by reading the story then cutting out and pasting the pictures from their worksheet and putting them in order of key details by asking and answering questions such as who, what,

Content: students will be able to tell and write a simple story or message on a topic of interest and tell about two or more events that happened in sequence by adding details to what happened, then using temporal words to show the events and be able to provide closure.

Language: students will be able to show what they learn by writing a story on a topic they like by adding two or more sequence of events with details of what happened with temporal words to show the order of events and provide closure then be able to tell the story to the class.

Listening and Speaking o

With the English Language Proficiency Standard and the Content standard and how the content and objectives cover the characteristics of the Basic ELL levels is it tells the skills and shows the knowledge of the students’ performance for that lesson. This lesson or standard is helping the students aim to be able to explain or use images to make better sense or better connections of the words or story being told.

How the teacher can create a lesson plan in which provides scaffolding is by putting students in different understanding levels or reading levels and having them a worksheet that are at the student’s grade level of comprehension.

With the English Language Proficiency Standard and the Content standard and how the content and objectives cover the characteristics of the Basic ELL levels is students are able to read a story then use images and sort them out, follow the two step instruction that is being asked along with helping the students explain how the key details work. This standard is helping the students be able to explain how the key details work in a story and help give them a better connection to the reading that was done.

How the teacher can create a lesson plan in which provides scaffolding is students are given a story that is at their reading level and a worksheet that goes with the story then are asked to follow the two step instruction to complete the assignment.



Writing o

With the English Language Proficiency Standard and the Content standard and how the content and objectives cover the characteristics of the Basic ELL levels is helping the students tell the information of a story on a piece of a story on a topic of interest by adding events, using short sentences and using words phrases. This standard is helping the students be able to preform and explain a story so not only the teacher knows the student is able to preform the task but the student as well and is able to make a connection to the lesson and even future assignments.

How the teacher can create a lesson plan in which provides scaffolding is by having that students in a group of three or four students in each group based on their learning levels and having them rotate every ten minutes and having them work on each section with the

aid as well as the teacher. This way they can help the students with spelling and anything else the student may need help with on the assignment.
