Description

Essay Public investment on facilities Nowadays most of the people live sorrounded by technology, which may seem good and it may be seen as a signal of wealth and progress but underneath there are some shady topics. Whenever we want to invest public money, we want to make the most efficient use of it as possible. Three main facilities have been discussed, museums, sports centers and public gardens. Museums are out from the beginning, nowadays the interest is low and it’s mantainment it’s only affordable in big cities. So that will leave us only with the sports centers and public gardens. To my way of thinking gardens are indeed important to the looks of the town. Parks seem great to everybody and green spaces are always confortable. The sports centers are also relevant, specially when the subject is public health among the citizens. All things considered, the main objective is to obtain the maximum benefit/cost ratio with this investment. As established before, more and more people are subdued to the constant stimulus of technology regardless of their location. This, mixed with the straigh relationship between wealth and obesity (poor people abuse more of junk food) makes exercice a very important subject. In conclusion, as far as I’m concerned the best option for the population of our town would be to have better and more affordable sports center facilities. This investment will mean more flexible schedules and an incentive to try and stick on the sports culture. At the end, the money spent may even ricochet in the form of less public healt spending!
