The car seat is placed rear facing in in the rear seat of the vehicle and secured using the safety belt. The shoulder harnesses are placed in the slots at or below the level of the infantts shoulder. The harness should be snug and the retainer clip placed at teh level of the infants armpits .
Instruct the parents tht their newborn will require a checkup by provider. Infants discharged sooner than 48hrs after birth should be examined within 48hrs after discharged from hospital
