In report-writing, an executive summary is a summary of the entire report that should briefly state the key messages found in the report. It generally contains no references and for this report, should be a maximum of one page in length. Single spacing of text is acceptable for executive summaries. In contrast, the introduction should state what you are going to do in the report, including introducing the report’s structure. For a report of this length, limit the introduction to around half a page and use 1.5 spacing of the text.
