DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE Name: Edwin Class: Government 2305 Date: 6-20-21 Pg. and question 3 before your read  What individual rights should a government protect for its people? - The rights that the government should protect from its people are freedom is speech because every human being should have the right to speak their mind without getting punished for it , also the freedom of religion anyone should be free to practice any religion they want without being judged or treated differently for the god or god’s they desire to pray to , and also the right to marry whoever you want because anyone is entitled to choose who they want to marry.  What government should provide for its people? –  How the people hold government accountable? The people hold the government accountable by voting/that official out in the next election. 4 academic vocabulary When Jefferson say’s “ Laws of nature” I think that means that the government and the people have to follow specific and when he say’s “Nature God” he’s trying to say that some rights are god given rights.

To show how he abused his power and conflicted with the natural rights of the government How does Jefferson use these grievances as evidence to support his claim? Jefferson used these grievances as evidence to support his claim by bringing awareness to the people that soldiers are getting unfair treatment and the government isn't meeting people’s rights.

The evidence that was the most useful to the author to support this claim was mentioning the social contract and explain the rights of the people.
