Description

1/ There are several beautiful scenes in the film, but one of the most memorable is probably the one on Brokeback Mountain in 1963, when Ennis appeared, hugging Jack from behind, causing Jack to smile dreamily, while time drifted slowly in the fire in front of them, the two of them just standing like that, until Ennis said, "You snooze like a horse... see you tomorrow!" They are partners, and friends through beautiful sunny and rainy days and even cold days on the Brokeback Mountain, in the wilderness of nature. The film followed by the scenes where Ennis and Jack walk together in the meadows, in the rivers, in the mountains, by Brokeback's fire. Ennis lied to his wife several times a year that he went "fishing", with Jack, but he never brought any fish back. This might imply that he longs for Jack’s love and affection, the real person of himself when he gets to be on the mountain, but that was forbidden, so he had to lie to his wife. The world of the mountain is where two hearts that are in sync and in their own room, without interruption by any street or anyone else, there is only the sound of wind, mountains, and the murmur of water, all filled with the flavors of the Western land in the popular stories. An image of Brokeback Mountain is pinned to the cupboard next to the two shirts. The way Ennis had adjusted the frame, with tears in his eyes and sorrow in his eyes, the words "Jack, I swear...", showed how he is suffering, regretful, tormented by burying the beautiful past where they can be together, apart from the world where is full of social standard, where the love between two men is forbidden. 2/The scene that had haunted me for days was when Ennis discovered the blue shirt Jack had worn on his last day on Brokeback Mountain that summer, the shirt still stained with blood on his sleeve as Jack wiped blood from his nose. Ennis went to Jack's house after his lover died, walked up into a small room and two shirts with blood-soaked sleeves, it was when the two of

them had a fight in the mountains, Jack secretly brought the shirt. they are about, interlocking, Jack is outside, inside is his - as if Jack wanted to protect Ennis, protect him with his immense love. Then he embraced the two shirts, as if hugging Jack, his pale austere face buried in the shirt as if searching for any remaining warmth. The man carrying the two shirts - now Ennis’ nestled outside Jack’s - and came home, the expensive image symbolizing that Ennis wanted to be Jack's shield now, even if he was gone forever. The film concludes with Ennis closing the closet but leaving only an open window, with the green of the meadows and the red of the lane, representing his never-ending loneliness. The scenes at the end of the movie are sad and haunting, when we see the loss of Jack, how much Ennis yearn to live as himself. Upon arriving at Jack's house, Ennis saw two familiar shirts hanging in the closet, the two shirts they wore on their last day in the mountain. Ennis thought that the shirt was neglected on the mountain, without knowing that Jack had quietly taken it, and always kept the two shirts tucked into each other, hugging each other - something their owners could not do. How Jack secretly kept the two shirts and nestled them respectfully shows how much Jack loves Ennis, and how much he desires to be with him forever....
