It is widely recognized by that international community that outer space is for peaceful use only. However, in 2025, State A launched a missile against State B’s weather reporting satellite. The satellite was destroyed. The satellite crashed into the ocean. The wreck of the satellite was sunk (fortunately) into the Pacific without causing damage to any other country. Advise State B on how they would establish state responsibility under international law in this case?

State A (a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council) and State B (a member of the UN) have land territory that borders the same sea - the South Sea. State A and B both have maritime territorial claims in the South Sea. Therefore, disputes have been arising over the years and sometimes even tensions between military vessels from two countries. Please explain (a) how could the two countries resolve their disputes under international law? (b) does the International Court of Justice have jurisdiction in this case?...
