Description

Luis Garcia Michael Sohan ENC3249 November, 29 Memo DATE: 28/11/2021 TO: Professor Sohan FROM: Luis Garcia SUBJECT: Research Proposal Assignment Introduction The website to use in the study is "aidshealth.org," which belongs to Aids Healthcare Foundation, a non-profit world organization based in Los Angeles. The website carries an important message, which is beneficial if evaluated by a team since it would reach a great audience. The website campaigns for the testing of HIV/AIDS. The organization target to test at least a billion individuals annually. Problem Statement The website is suitable for the study due to its aimed mission. It demonstrates various issues in the user experience. The website has unclear information that might mislead users. Although the hook message on the first page of the website is meaningful, it does not match the organization's role. The messages states, "AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION: CUTTING EDGE MEDICINE AND ADVOCACY REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY." The message is misleading since it talks about healthcare when the organization deals with the management of HIV/AIDS. Furthermore, the logo is certain with the uninviting color of royal red and bold white text. The website also has numerous tabs, making it hard for an average person to check all the information on it. Proposed Solution The evaluator to be used is an aesthetic and minimalistic design interface. I chose the aesthetic and minimalistic design since it aligns with website problems. The website has a poorly designed logo, and the hook-up message is irrelevant. Aesthetic and minimalistic design interface recommends that an interface should have a relevant information and visual designs that support the goals of an organization (Nielsen). I will test the evaluators by comparing the website with another one from an organization that provides healthcare services, which is attractive and efficient in displaying information. Scope Discovering issues that we are fixing in the website will need some questions like:

   

How did the website arrange the content? Should the website layout be changed to something easier for an average person to navigate? Is the visual design attractive to the average individual? The questions will help approach the evaluation easily.

Methods I will divide discovered interfaces to each team member for every role to be performed well. One individual will be allocated with the visual design task. A single person will tackle the user experience task and another one will handle the content strategy task. The task will be allocated according to the members’ strengths and interests. We will also use secondary research materials to support us in work, like the book "Beginners Guide to Graphic Design" by Gareth David. I found the book essential due to its information on graphic design. We will also use the book "How to Create a Killer Content Strategy" by Salesforce, which is essential in providing more information about content strategy. Audience The people who will benefit from the work are organization. Other beneficiaries will be the existing customers for the organization and the target customers that the firm aims to reach. Sponsors to HIV/AIDS pandemic will also benefit from the work as they can easily discover such establishments. Qualifications I am qualified to undertake this task since I can easily identify what is appealing and not to the people through my vast interest in graphic design. I work with video productions, and I have produced several videos. I am interested in managing HIV/AIDS since it is a pandemic that has lasted for several years, and I would love a large number of people to be aware of it. Conclusion I am proposing we make some modifications to this website to make it appealing to clients, easy to understand its content, and easy to navigate through it so that the audience can relate to the organization's mission. I will achieve this through the help of my team members by allocating the problems according to our abilities and interests and seeking more information from secondary resources. I am sure we will achieve this if everything goes as planned. I would be glad if you to consider my proposal for the project and promise excellent results.
