FINDINGS

 Most of the respondents which 48.5% are age of 46 and above. The majority of the employees fall under age group of this category.  Most of the respondents were males (63%).  Ksheera does not have a very high degree of training and development programme.  Most of the employees in the Ksheera dairy are satisfied with the rating of training and development programmes in the organization.  Maximum respondents have not under gone training programme in the last year.  More than half of the respondents (63%) have 5-10 year and above 10 years of experience in the firm.  Both on the job and off the job training is provided to the employees. The company provides on the job training to 71% of the employees and off job training to 29% of the employees.  Only 17% of the employees are agreed with that the training duration was sufficient. But 83% of the employees are did not agree with this.  100% of the employees agree that the work become easier after training.  80% of employees says that the training gives confidence and flexibility on the job and easy to handle any high responsibility.  The trainers are from out side and inside the organization, but most of them are inside the organization persons.

 Most of the employees in the Ksheera dairy were satisfied on the training given by Ksheera.  Majority of respondents (48%) are showing the opinion about the trainer’s theoretical knowledge was good.  80% of the employees say that the training helps to increase productivity; they are more productive after training.  Ksheera provide training for both current job and future development.  Training provides better awareness about job.  80% of the employees agree that the training helps to become technically more efficient.  Most of the respondents which are strongly agreed with the demonstration in training help to achieve the organization goals.  More than half of the employees (86%) agree that the training gives idea about efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.  57% of the respondents say that the company did not consider workers suggestion regarding the training.  The training programme helps to increase the quality of out put and also help to learn technology. In Ksheera dairy 86% of the employees agree with this statement.  Training helps the employees to develop the inter-personal relationship

SUGGESTIONS Beside on the findings give above the following suggestions were made for improving the training process of the company.  Efforts are to be taken to improve the quality of training programme which may help the employees to work more effectively and efficiently.  During the training objective should be clearly disclose to the employees then they can achieve all the objectives specified in the Ksheera. And also provide incentives to motivate them.  The company should try to consider the workers suggestions regarding training. It helps to improve their commitment on job.  Providing the training just before the commencement of new projects would increase the amount of learning that is put to use.  Small test or test projects can be given to the trainers to measure the level of understanding.

CONCLUSION This study titled “A Study of Effectiveness of Training and Development” at Ksheera was done in the organization named Maranalloor Ksheera vyavasaya sahakarana sangham Ltd No3994 (KSHEERA) is in Maranalloor Panchayath. It has also played its own role in uplifting the poor farmers of the industrial and agricultural sector of the panchayath. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the training programme provided by the company. The training programmes were very useful and unavoidable for the organization and contributed positively for its growth. At the end of the study it was found that the employees of the company were satisfied but not highly satisfied with the training programme provided by the company. So the company has to improve their training infrastructure and the techniques to make it more effective.
