Destine Delusenet For our week one assignment in RNSG 1161-013 (Clinical), we went through ATI’s nursing logic modules covering professionalism. There are four modules, entitled; Knowledge and Clinical Judgment, Nursing Concepts, Priority Setting Frameworks, and Testing and Remediation. 3 things I learned from each module: 1. Knowledge and Clinical Judgement In the Helix of success, clinical judgement and knowledge can be achieved with the help of a set of nursing concepts. The nursing concepts are as follows: client-centered care, interdisciplinary collaborations, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, informatics, safety, client education, professionalism, leadership, and priority setting. We apply knowledge from biological, physical, and social sciences, as well as, nursing procedures and skills. 2. Nursing Concepts There are five stages of nursing competency: novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient, expert. Clients can be individuals, families, groups or communities. The Nursing Process involves Assessment, Analysis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. 3. Priority Setting Frameworks Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: self-actualization, self-esteem, love and belonging, safety and security, physiological. The ABC’s: Airway, Breathing, Circulation Survival potential is rated on a scale from expectant to nonurgent to urgent to emergent that lead to what resources a patient will need in order to treat their illness or injury. 4. Testing and Remediation For effective reading you should: skim, actively read, ask yourself questions, stop to think, and review material to enhance retention. The ABC’s of studying: Acronyms, Basics, Cluster, Dictionary, Exams, Flashcards, Groups, Highlight, Information, Juggle, Keep on Track, Lecture Objectives, and Map.
