Tea is a common drink of choice for many people around the world, including myself. Not only does tea warm our bellies, satisfy our taste buds, or cure our headaches, it provides multiple natural resources which have a variety of applications, many of which involve the chemicals and compounds derived from the leaves and plants. In order to extract these specific components, we need to isolate them from a large number of others within the tea leaves, using the process known as extraction. Solvent extraction is commonly used to separate and purify caffeine from tea, while other compounds may be extracted from natural sources using the same technique!
