Brieanna Bryant Dr. Wood Cultural Anthropology Forest Development in Indian Way December 9 2017 Forest Development in Indian Way This article speaks about the taboo action of slashing and burning forests is actually a means for economic and sustainability for the Guarani Indian Tribe. One of the reasons the author says that the slashing and burning of the forests is for the sustainability of the Guarani Indians is because these are the resources in which they build them homes. I found that the bamboo and other foliage collected for the development of their homes was interesting. The question I have is with modern technology, is there more effective ways in which we can sustain their life style without having to destroy forests. Although, I understand it’s not at a alarming rate, due to their population. This is important because we don’t want to remove certain aspects from their culture and traditions while trying to conserve the forest....
