Forums 1) The current water crisis in South Africa is a major gepolitical Issue which should get more attention then it currently is. Humans should always learn from the past that nothing lasts forever, and that’s the mentality south Africans didn’t follow and unfortunately, we’re here now. South Africans have been overexploiting their water system for numerous years and the consequences are becoming very clean right now. Whose to blame for this issue, it’s the government for not investing enough capital in the development and maintenance of the infrastructure of the water system. They are very ‘cheap’ around the issue. Cape Town was one of the only clean metro in South Africa which received a clean audit till last year, after that it went straight downhill. The current issue is really bad for South Africa and they should put all their effort in to better the water crisis for all the people in South Africa.

2) Food production is one of the factors that has huge important impact on the environmental issue around the earth. The animal agriculture is ruining the earth and it’s atmosphere, raising the animals we use to eat generate more around 14-15% of global green house emissions each year. Its astonishing how animal agriculture has a greater green house emission output then all transportations combined. Also raising the livestocks causes deforestation and water pollution. Genetically modified crops have became the latest biotechnology in the 21st century. Companies such as Monsanto are sacrificing revenue for human and environmental lives. For third world countries to follow ‘our example’ in food production it would mean them to use more fertiliser and herbicides which aren’t safe to the environment. Since many famers in the third world country are poor can’t afford proper chemicals, they use cheap knock-offs which are much worse. In my personal opinion alternative sources of protein is a very blurry image for me still. The reason why I say this is because even though since companies use harmful chemicals to supply the protein they’re marketing that can damage the body over a period of time, but at the same time our world is revolving in a very fast pace. We are reproducing more then ever and in order to supply this we need alternative commitments for food besides relying 100% on the crops. I agree with all of your points in the first question. Water is such a valuable resource we have and because of humans, we are unable to provide such a basic necessity to everyone. I think ignorance plays a big role in this because we are not educating ourselves enough about the planet and how vulnerable it has become. The dark past of South Africa presents itself as one of the larger reasons as it why there has not been much done to aid the poorer regions and it is best if we recognize this issue as soon as we can to find solutions before it is too late....
