Description

According to Michael Jucious, ‘grievance is any discontent or dissatisfaction whether expressed or not, whether valid or not, arising out of anything connected with the company which an employee thinks, believes or even feels to be unfair, unjust or inequitable’. In short, grievance is a state of dissatisfaction, expressed or unexpressed, written or unwritten, justified or unjustified, having connection with employment situation. Employees are the valuable assets of the organisation and the key to success, thus grievances that are not identified and redressed may adversely affect not only employee but also organisation. A grievance handling system serves as an outlet for employee frustrations, discontents, and gripes like a pressure release value on a steam boiler. Hence, there arises a need to study the grievances among employees. The purpose of the study is to explore the grievances among employees and its handling procedures in Infosys Bangalore. This topic has been chosen because grievances among employees have a potential influence on employee productivity, employee morale and employee commitment in an organization. The project is aimed at understanding the grievances of employees relating to their job, their working condition, their supervisors, their wages and overall organization.
