Globalization – The Most Macro of All Macro: Planet Money Makes a T-Shirt Visit https://apps.npr.org/tshirt/#/title. Watch the intro video (00:48) and then Explore all 5 Chapters (watch each of the short video clips, and read the information contained in each chapter) & then respond to the Questions below: COTTON (02:33): Explain how technology has transformed the cotton industry in the US. What stood out to you the most from this chapter? Now the production of cotton is completley digatized. What stood out to me the most was the cotton tractors drive itself, and their is truley no human labor left in the market. With this technological change it has also become much more efficent.

MACHINES (01:34): Which machine is your favorite? What stood out to you the most from this chapter? I liked the Schlafhorst SE-8 OE Spinning Machine soley because of how cool it looks when its spinning the cotton. What stood out to me the most was once again how automated the process of cotton to t-shirts really is.

PEOPLE (06:22): What are the main differences between the garment industries in Bangladesh and Colombia? What stood out to you the most from this chapter? In Bangladesh the garmant industry is esential for moving up in social class rankings while in Columbia it is seen as just another industry. What stood out to me the most was that even though the working conditons are bad in Bangladesh, they are still essential for many families well being.

BOXES (01:38): Why are containers the "unsung innovation that make the global economy possible?" What stood out to you the most from this chapter? Containers are the unsung innovation because it makes transporting goods from far away countries much eaiser than before. What stood out to me the most was how cheap it was to transport.

YOU (01:40): What stood out to you the most from this chapter? I think its very intersting to look at material goods and realize that the way they are produced invovles many steps and how you should be grateful for all that goes into producing that good

“The Afterlife of American Clothes” (about what happens when you donate clothes) https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2013/12/10/247362140/the-afterlife-of-american-clothes

I read the Afterlife of American Clothes. The article talked about how when we donate clothe to goodwill, much of it is sold in bulk to African countries. In these African countries the t-shirts/clothing is re taiolerd and cleaned up and sold once again, at a much cheaper price. I found this article fascinating because it adds so much moe lengt to the life of a t-shirt.

Bonus: Who is referenced in the design of the t-shirt? ...
