Description

The novel "Brave New World" tells us about a dystopian world, that is, a hypothetical future society where government through science and technology exercises control over society. unlike our world, here the government controls every movement, and happiness is only an appearance caused by ignorance and drugs. The novel talks about various issues of current society and its future consequences, so I will only highlight the three most important: social classes, cloning and identity. 1- social classes: society has been divided into different groups to have them under control conditioning them to accept their fate in life. 2- cloning: unlike our world, here scientists have no moral qualms whatsoever with human cloning, and, in fact, have industrialized it on a large scale, producing large batches of physiologically identical humans. 3- identity: the novel gives a sense of artificial community. nobody has an individual identity, but a community identity was built. There are no unique experiences and nobody has unique feelings. All these differences are consequences of globalization. The novel places us in a situation in which science and technology advance more than humanity, and how these tools can bring consequences to our society, if they are poorly implemented.

Hello everyone. first of all, let me thank you all for coming here. I’m Alejo Milesi and today I'm going to talk about the novel "brave new world". I have divided my presentation into three parts. In the first part, I will describe the world in the novel, in the second part I will talk about the differences with our present world and finally I will give an opinion if any of them is a consequence of globalization. In the end, you will have time for questions. Well, let’s begin. The novel "Brave New World" tells us about a dystopian world, that is, a hypothetical future society where government through science and technology, exercises control over society. To talk about the differences with our present world. I selected three differences: social classes, cloning and identity. 1- social classes: Society has been divided into different groups to keep them under control. 2- cloning: here the scientists have no moral, no ethics with human cloning and, what's more, they have industrialized this process on a large scale. 3- identity: Here, there are no unique experiences and no one has unique feelings. nobody has an individual identity. The novel presents an artificial community. Speaking personally, I think that All these differences are consequences of globalization. The novel, try to places us in a situation in which science and technology advance more than humanity, and how these tools can bring consequences to our society, if they are poorly implemented....
