Glucose D50 syringe
10g=20ml inj 7.5g=15ml inj 30g=75ml gel 15g=37.5ml oral
Monitor high glucose
PRN: Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
0.5mg=0.5mL injection IV for pain breakthrough severe
Moderate to severe pain (alone and in combination with nonopioid analgesics).
Therapeutic: allergy, cold, and cough remedies (antitussives), opioid analgesics Pharmacologic: opioid agonists
PRN: Ondansetron(Zofran) Therapeutic: antiemetics Pharmacologic: 5-HT3 antagonists
*Doses depend on level of pain and tolerance. Larger doses may be required during chronic therapy 4mg=2mL injection IV push for nausea and vomiting

Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with highly or moderately emetogenic chemotherapy

Assess BP, pulse, and respirations before and periodically during administration respiratory rate is >10/min, assess level of sedation. Dose may need to be decreased by 25 – 50% Initial drowsiness will diminish with continued use
Assess patient for nausea, vomiting, abdominal distention, and bowel sounds prior to and following administration Monitor ECG in patients with hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, HF, bradyarrhythmias, or patients taking concomitant medications that prolong the QT interval....
